Basket mills, also known as immersion mills, are used when a material needs mixing, dispersion, and wet grinding in the same process. Instead of sending the material through a separate grinding chamber, the grinding basket is lowered directly into the tank and works inside the product. The basket contains grinding media, while the rotating shaft and dispersing parts keep the material circulating through the grinding area. During processing, the material is mixed and ground at the same time, helping reduce particle size, break down agglomerates, and create a more even dispersion. This structure is useful for batch production, especially when the process needs easier cleaning, faster material changeover, or flexible handling of viscous formulations.

  • Mixing, dispersion, and wet grinding can be completed in the same unit, so the material does not need to move between separate mixers and grinding equipment, helping simplify the process flow, save floor space, and make batch production easier to manage.
  • The self-priming impeller helps draw material into the grinding basket smoothly, where the rotating basket and grinding media create the shear needed for fine grinding and dispersion.
  • The grinding basket can be lifted out of the tank for cleaning and material changeover, making the process more convenient when working with different colors or product batches.
  • After grinding, only a small amount of material is left inside the basket, so more of the product can be used and less is wasted during production.
  • The basket mill is suitable for laboratory testing, sampling, and small- to medium-batch production, especially when several product types need to be processed with flexible changeover.
  • The bottom stirring system works together with basket circulation to keep the material moving evenly inside the tank, reduce unprocessed areas, and improve grinding and dispersion consistency.
  • A special anti-backflow structure helps keep the grinding media inside the basket and reduces bead leakage during operation.
