Butterfly Twin Shaft Mixer
Butterfly twin shaft mixers are designed for medium- to high-viscosity materials that need steady mixing without overly aggressive grinding. The mixing section has two shafts fitted with butterfly blades, usually arranged to move the material from different directions inside the tank. When the blades rotate, the material is pushed through axial and radial flow patterns, which helps thicker formulations circulate more evenly instead of staying around the wall or bottom. The broad material movement and controlled shear created by the butterfly blades help the batch move through pre-dispersion, blending, and homogenization more smoothly before the next production step.

- Butterfly-shaped blades create both axial and radial movement inside the tank, helping the material circulate in different directions and reach a more uniform mix in a shorter processing time.
- The butterfly blade movement helps the mixer be able to handle materials with a wide viscosity range, from low-viscosity liquids to medium and high-viscosity slurries, while keeping thicker materials moving more evenly through the tank.
- Vacuum, heating, and cooling systems can be added according to the production process and material requirements. For applications with higher hygiene or corrosion-resistance needs, material contact parts can also be made from food-grade stainless steel such as SS316L.
- The blade structure is relatively simple, making disassembly, cleaning, and maintenance more convenient for batch changeover and processes that require better hygiene control.
- Material flow created by the butterfly blades supports more efficient mixing, reducing unnecessary energy use while maintaining the required mixing effect.
Technical Drawings
We can design technical drawings with specified configurations according to customer needs, and can produce drawings within 3 days. After the customer places an order, we can also create detailed disassembly and assembly diagrams, factory layout diagrams, production line flowcharts, etc. for the corresponding machines if they need them.

Dispersing Disc Options
The dispersing discs can be made from wear-resistant stainless steel and designed with serrated edges to create the shear needed for dispersion. Their size and structure can be selected according to mixer power, material viscosity, and process requirements, so cleaning and replacement are easier during daily production.

Customized Butterfly Blade Designs
Butterfly blades can be customized in different forms, including helical blade designs, to match the customer’s material and production process. Different blade shapes help adjust how the material moves inside the tank, improving mixing coverage and overall mixing performance.

Optional Process Systems and Contact Materials
Vacuum, heating, and cooling systems can be added when the production process requires more control. For materials with higher hygiene, corrosion-resistance, or cleanliness requirements, the parts in contact with the material can also be made from food-grade stainless steel such as SS316L.
